Japanese  Culture  Experience - Manekineko Painting Tokyo, Hotel

Shiba Park Hotel,

Manekineko Painting

Fee : 500 JPY / Capacity : 10 persons

Manekineko (beckoning cat) is a decorative ornament with its front paw beckoning you to come over. Used as a good luck charm to attract business, it is commonly seen in Japan. Only one front paw is raised: A raised left paw is to attract people, while a raised right paw attracts money.

At the event, guests choose an unglazed Manekineko, with its left or right paw raised and paint it. The painted Manekinekos can be taken home as a souvenir.
