Mizuhiki is a decorative Japanese cord made from twisted paper, which is tied around a gift or an envelope in Japan.

Samurai warriors in old days, and even today sumo wrestlers use mizuhiki to tie up their hair. There are many meanings and usages to mizuhiki, such as sealing, used as a talisman to protect from evils, and also used as a symbol of tying people’s hearts together.

At the workshop, guests will be instructed on how to enjoy tying mizuhiki.
